Amsterdam, 1500 auction items that belonged to Queen Juliana
Amsterdam. The four daughters and heirs of Queen Juliana of Holland (deceased in 2004) decided to sell a group of art objects belonging to the sovereign, for the benefit of four philanthropic institutions. Holland Juliana reigned from 1948 until abdication in 1980 in favor of her daughter, now Queen Beatrix. The 1,500 lots will be offered in four days of sales, 14 to 17 March, Sotheby's Amsterdam. The loss includes furniture, china, glassware, silverware, paintings and sculptures, mostly from the palace of Soestdijk Utrecht, many of the items for sale were received by Queen Juliana for succession by King Willem I, II and III (1815-90) , by Queen Emma (1890-98), and Queen Wilhelmina (1890-1948). The sale is valued in total over 1.5 million euro, but represents all price ranges: from 100-150 € required for a metal jug with a 'E' crowned (Emma), 40-to 60 thousand euro for a rare dining service Ginori porcelain shower of 1780-1820, 30-to 50 thousand euro for a tea set of Chinese Qing dynasty silver gold dated from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The bodies are thought to be benefited the Red Cross, the Fund of the Princess Beatrice, the Prinses Christina Concours and Natuurcollege.
